UTC employees at World Water Day

UTC employee volunteers in Singapore celebrate World Water Day.

You may be asking yourself about the connection between sustainability and National Volunteer Week, taking place right now through April 16.

At UTC, we believe that true sustainability means doing good for the planet while we do good for our employees, communities, customers and shareowners. We support vibrant communities around the world – and our employees share this commitment.

That’s why we’d like to highlight just a few examples of what our employees have done and continue to do to make the world a better place:

  • 350 employees in 25 sites helped transform local schools into healthy, safe, cost-efficient and productive learning places in conjunction with the U.S. Green Building Council’s Green Apple Day of Service.
  • In March, 500 employees and their family members from across UTC's sites in Singapore participated in World Water Day festivities, highlighting the country's ongoing commitment to preserving fresh, potable water for Singapore's residents.
  • UTC employees nationwide have raised more than $3 million for the American Cancer Society in the battle to fight cancer.
  • More than 500 employees and their families volunteered at the 2015 CT Special Olympic Summer Games.

We often say that a connected, collaborative effort is needed to ensure a sustainable future for all generations. As evidenced by the remarkable contributions above, we’re proud to say that our employees agree – and proud of their efforts to move the world forward.
